Prominent Iris Crypts

I have noticed since Brooke was born a spot on her eye. I asked the pediatrician and she referred us to an pediatric ophthalmologist. They got us in right away- Kind of scary- She has great vision and was diagnosed with a prominent iris Crypts. We are to watch it over the next 6 months but in his opinion it is clearly cosmetic- The camera for some reason picks up the spot really well in low light- there is actually on in each eye but the one on her left is most apparent.

Little boys and Tools

Caleb got this chainsaw the other day- I got it for him at a tag sale. He has had fun with it- so glad it was only $2 and we can get rid of it soon. It is so loud!

Chewing on a book is so much fun

4 months old

So look what she is doing now! Brooke loves her exercauser! Lets just say I wish I had one with the other kids! She is sitting in her bumboo and brings toys to her mouth to chew on. She smiles so easily and loves her big sister and brother. She is rolling all over the place and nothing is safe on the floor anymore.

Crump park

We took the kids to a park near our house the other day and we were surprised to find out that it was civil war days- they had all different tasks and jobs for the kids to do on the farm. They could dig sweet potatoes, feed the cows and horses, shell black eyed peas, spin wool. It was the first time taking the kids somewhere to ride there bikes- we had a lot of fun.

Washington DC with three kids

Last weekend we took the kids up to WA DC. We had a very tiring blast and lots of walking with the three kids- I Can totally understand why it isn't fun for them. Looking at old buildings. When I told kaitlyn how old the capital was she said.... Mom so it was built the same time grandma lynda was born. I started laughing so loud people started looking. She apparently has no idea of time yet. We were able to take a tour of the Capital- we walk to the library of congress, White house, american history museum, we saw the Washington monument. Lets just say it was memorable. In the history musuem we got to see the Ruby slippers from wizard of oz. Julie childs kitchen, lincoln's suit and top hat all the first ladies dresses.

Caleb goes to preschool

It is hard to believe that Caleb is old enough to go to preschool- he goes monday, wednesday and fridays from 9-12. He is just loving it and has already learned so much in the three days he has gone.

Woodland Park Zoo

We went to the zoo while we were in the Northwest. Wow we had a great time. We watched a bear catch and eat a salmon right in front of us. We saw a otter place a rock on his head and put it in his rock pile. We saw a hippo open his mouth and drink water from a water fall. Yeah it was so much fun!

Asking myself why....?

I often ask myself why and today is no exception- Kaitlyn was up most of last night with a tummy ache and a very sore throat- To spare you all the details it is quite gross looking. She has strep throat and is on a 10 day antibiotic and is extremely contagious so I am keeping my fingers crossed we all do not get sick- my guess is at least Caleb will get it.
Our doctor said it is rare for kids under the age of 1 get it. Ryan got up this am and came looking for me- he had no idea she was even sick. FUNNY.Also Brooke has settled into a really nice night bed time- usually in bed by 930 and up around 930 but she will not sleep during the day- (3) 20-30min naps a day. I get nothing done. Well I get a lot of time with my kids and that is what matters. Oh by the way-I just had to take the nail gun toy away from Caleb because he was shooting his sisters with it- THANKS Uncle Jared and Aunt Beka- I think I will need to pass that down to Anthony in a year or so. Caleb is now sitting on the stairs saying how much he hates me. Life is good-

Look how big I am getting

Brooke has out grown all of her 0-3 pjs and she is working on rolling over. She is grabbing for toys and everything goes right into her mouth. I have also figured out why she doesn't want to sleep during day- she doesn't want to miss anything the big kids are doing. She makes up her sleep during her 12 hour hibernation at night. Ryan calls it that. She is wearing one of kaitlyns outfits- It has been fun putting her in them.

3 yr old boy

I just had to make a post of this little boy activity that happened in seconds yesterday. We went to costco and the kids had pizza for lunch- I had a plastic knife to cut the pizza. The knife got placed in brookes car seat and traveled home with us. We were home for a few hours and then we were headed out to the pool. As I was putting Brooke into her car seat I set the plastic knife on the end table. Caleb grab it and started sawing the table with it- Before I got a chance to stop him he had sawed the entire edge of the table. BOYS- Who would have thought a plastic knife could have done this much damage. I guess it is my fault because I set the knife on the table- RIGHT???

Washington Nationals Baseball game

We took the kids up to DC to see a baseball game- WOW it is alot of work to entertain 3 kids for the entire game, about the 3rd inning both kailtyn and caleb asked how much longer the game was going to be. We had a great time (ryan and I ). The stadium is beautiful and we had great seats. We got to see Strasburg pitch which even more fantastic!
