My life with three kids

This morning was a reality check of what life is going to be like with three little kids. After being up from 11-12:30, 1:15-3 and 4-5 with Brooke I asked Ryan to get up at 5. The problem is she wants to sleep on our chests- She likes to be on her tummy. So when I lay her down on her back she lays there for about 20 mins and then is awake- not fussy just awake. Caleb came into the bedroom at 630 and said he had to go potty. So after little sleep the day begins. Kaitlyn up at 645 for school- getting her dressed- breakfast- hair and lunched pack- Nursed Brooke and took kaitlyn out to the bus. It is 9:45 and I have already down 2 loads of laundry and took two trips around the block so caleb could ride his scooter and jeep. He is asking for his third snack of the day and Brooke is hungry again. I might be able to get something to eat myself soon. I have had 2 cups of coffee- and some a few bites of calebs froot loops snack.

Grandpa and Grandma Visit us and the three kids

Grandpa and Grandma landed on thursday afternoon and got to meet Brooke at one week old. We had so much fun! We went strawberry picking and made strawberry ice cream. Kim and lynda were able to see kaitlyn and Caleb do gymnastics friday night and we ordered pizza from and ate dinner on the deck. Kailtyn play T-ball and soccer. They took the kids for a saturday afternoon Movie Shrek 4 and lunch and Mcdonalds. Ryan and I were able to get out a few hours on saturday night to a friends birthday party. We went to the pool for about 30 min. because the first weekend the pool is always way to cold. Monday we all went to kaitlyns first swim team practice. Wow 25 little 5 years in the pool all at once- scarey. What a great time. thanks for visiting us!

Dirty (toad) vs cricket

This is our new family pet named Dirty. We bought 20 crickets from the pet store so we can test Darwin's theory of natural selection. So far, all of the crickets have been selected out of the gene pool. This is an excellent video so enjoy. If anyone knows how to get this video into slow-motion let me know.

Animals have taken over

First -Yesterday as the big kids were in the shower and ryan was upstairs. I am told the man that has sadie on the other side of the fence that I just had a c-section and ryan would be out asap to get her. Now what do we do?? We have decided to put her back on regular food and make her gain the 17 pounds she has lost in the last year so she cant jump over the fence or we saw this back pack for dogs we are going to buy it and put weights in it.

Second- At 815 ryan and caleb were heading out to the garage for a run (caleb in the stroller because both ryan and I exhausted from out sweet little Brooke being up all night- Not mad but just not wanting to be in her crib - we are getting to old for this)Anyways Caleb screamed FROG- YES a huge toad- Of coarse they capture it and they want a jar for it- Yuck. We now have a pet toad.

Third- Merlin has found a squirrel nest- both sadie and him have tortured a baby squirrel or chipmunk. As I am typing this I see merlin getting another one- Ryan said it was the circle of life- I say no pets in the house- GROSS and so sad.

The hospital offers professional type pictures of all the newborns. They are not free (of course) and they prey on the new parents. I suppose we are suckers because we bought them. They are real nice and we can have the rights to get our own prints. If you would like us to order you a particular picture let us know. Enjoy the pics.

Family of 5

We were scheduled to have Brooke induced at 6 AM today. However, when I heard someone scream "My water just broke" at 3:59 AM, i knew we were not far from meeting Brooke. We arrived at the hospital around 430 and Jody was hooked up to the monitors. Jody noticed some blood and was checked by the nurse. After about 10 minutes the doctor arrived and there was even more blood. Rather than try to deliver the baby the doctor wanted to get Jody in right away for a c-section. She was given a spinal and in 5 minutes I was in the OR with Jody and the team. Brooke Elizabeth Anardi was born at 5:21 and weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and is 19 inches long. Both Jody and Brooke are doing excellent. The excessive bleeding was from a placental abruption. Jody will be in the hospital until Sunday. Enjoy the pictures of Brooke. She is beautiful.

Tomorrow May 13th

Tomorrow will be the day that we become a family of 5. In so many ways this is so exciting but in a lot of ways it is scary- probably the uncertainty. Kaitlyn, Caleb and I made cupcakes today and we are going to take the kids to dinner tonight to celebrate our last night as a family of 4. We will post pictures of our newest addition tomorrow after she is born. We wish our family and friends on the west coast were here to meet her in person. Wish us luck-

Baby update 40 weeks

our sweet little one is so stubborn already and she isn't even here yet. We love that she has made it to full term! They think she is well over 8 pounds. We are schedule for an induction at 6 am on Thursday May 13th. Our doctor is worried still about the size of her (being to large)so she doesn't really want me to go much longer than that with hopes of the next few days she decides to join us on her own. Ryans last final is tomorrow at 8am. He needs to see a few more patients to get his points for the semester so lets hope it is after tomorrow for his sake. I go Wednesday am for blood work and paperwork. The kids are going to stay at our friends Wednesday night because we will need to leave our house around 520 am. They are so excited to stay with Aiden and Ivys house. I think Ryan will try to stay at home with the kids on thursday if not at least get them to bed and we will have another neighbor come and stay with them at night and ryan can come and get them on friday am. Now that we have it all planned out she will decide to join us before then. We will keep you updated!
