Merry Christmas- we know it isnt the same without our family here but this is as good as it gets- besides webcame 3000 miles away. we hope that santa was good to you all. Kaitlyn got a new art studio and caleb got a wheel barrow and a fire truck. We have had a great morning and I have relized that kids do not care about clothes and I spent a lot time wrapping them and they get tossed a side- Kaitlyn is working at her art studio and caleb is driving cars over his new books.

We all made special cookies for Santa- They looked really good and the reindeer had special treats to!

Christmas tea

Kaitlyn and I went to a Girls afternoon tea. Kaitlyn and I had a great time. We had tea and lots of treats. We got all dresses up and enjoy the holiday season together. I was so impressed with kaitlyns manners and behavior. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter.

Caleb at dinner the other night

You just need to watch and laugh at this one. kids and dinner- no matter what you make they wont like it. They need grandparents around to let them eat whatever they want. By the way after 20 minutes we gave up.

Our family in VA

We had dinner at Steve and Brandis home the other night. We took a lot of photos of the girls. We are so lucky to have them in our lives here. I found these skirts out the williamsburg outlets the other day and thought they would be so cute on the girls.

Our Christmas tree

Here is our tree. It is a very pretty tree and we have lost three ortaments due kid abuse. Looks like there might be room to buy a few more next year.

Ryans holiday treat

Ryan has been bugging me to make Biscotti so he could enjoy a cup of espresso and a biscotti on break. I do agree that the homemade biscotti is a ton better than I have had before. Ryan took a photo of them both today.

Santa on a Fire truck

So every year here Santa comes to the neighborhood on a fire engine- it was so fun to see all the kids in the neighborhood scream for santa. Kaitlyn says she is so excited to see the real santa right by her house. Kids are fun. Kaitlyns double ear infection is better- she went to school today and looks like she is feeling a lot better. This is a priceless time when the thought of SANTA is so exciting for one and so scarey for the other one. We have two years of kailtyn screaming and this is calebs first. Merry christmas!

Salon day

Kaitlyn, Lynda and I went and had our toes done- we had such a great time and it was a wonderful time for us girls. Lynda had a chocolate scented pediture and I had a rosemary mint. Kaitlyn got christmas trees on her big toe. How much fun!

We got our tree at the food lion. Crazy I know but it is really pretty. I will add another post later with a picture of it all completed. Here are a few photos of the two sick kids and tree.

Ryan wanted me to make carmel so here is our new candy thermometer and kaitlyn taking photos of me. It turned out great!

Arent these photos to cute- he loves these ear things- he has been wearing the bunny ears aunt beka sent kaitlyn for easter. He will wear them for hours at a time. Can you believe it he is actually happy for once.

Happy Thanksgiving 2008

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had good food and great friends what more could people ask for- We did miss our family and we hope they had a great Thanksgiving!

Tuesday night crafts

Kaitlyn loves crafts so we decided we needed a little break from out everyday nightly routine. We had dinner and then made some Christmas ortaments. Caleb gets so mad when he cant do things just his way- he sat on the carpet and before we caught him he drew on the carpet with a green marker. Little boys are so different than little girls.

New sensory tanks stuff

Last year I put rice in the tank- it was a mess so I thought we would try cotton balls and feathers- so far it is worse because it floats all over the house- but the kids love it so what do you do?

Mcdonalds half marathon

So I have been training for months for this race. I did it!!! It was a hot and humid November day it was 77 and very humid. I had a cold and had not been feeling well but I was going to run regardless. My goal was to finish in under 2 hours and 10 min. I would have liked 2 hours and 5 min but I got 2 hours and 8 minutes so I am ok with that. I got a huge blister under my left toe nail. Ryan had to heat up a paper clip to drain it out the blood under the nail. Looks like I will be loosing it. It hurt extremly bad and now that it has been drained it doesnt hurt as bad! I wish my family and seattle friends could have seen it the race! Thanks to the Ryan the kids and the Lewis family for coming to cheer me on I needed it!

Friday night family pasta night 3

We made homemade pasta again tonight. kaitlyns job was the photographer so most of the photos were taken by her. We used our new ravioli. We saute portabella mushrooms and stuffed them with mushrooms and ricotta cheese and assiago cheese. They were wonderful and we had a great family night dinner. Caleb loves to salute- check out the photo of him and ryan.

Disney on ice

I surprised kaitlyn with tickets to the disney fantasy on ice show in richmond. Let me tell you it was well worth the $12 tickets. We had great seats and simply a great time. Kaitlyn was entertained for the entire two hour show. I took a short video- look at her eyes light up. I would go again in heart beat. It truely was a memorable time.

Using those teeth

Caleb has decided finally to start eating his veggies- A littl video clip for the memories. He is eating chicken and brocolli. I hope his eating habits get better now that his has more than 4 teeth and I know because I have teeth marks on my leg to prove it.

Cleaning the playroom

The kids are into using the simple green and paper towels and cleaning everything. It is fun because it keeps them busy for over 10 minutes and they are actually helping! This morning the were cleaning the floor then caleb got up and feel on his head from the wet floor so Ryan and I made a rule of no cleaning the floor. Check out kaitlyns sweater- She got up and dressed on her own before she came and got us out of bed. She is getting to be a big girl. She tried to do this upside down twist thing to get it on ahe learned at school and it didn't quit work for her but she tried.

Friday night excitement

My little boy has decided that biting people is a new found love for him. Ryan was feeding him grapes the other day on the couch and he bit Ryans finger which we didnt think much of the next day caleb was holding onto my leg and playing the next thing I know he bit my leg. The photos are the greatest but you get the picture. He also bit Ryans chest the other night playing. The next time it happens we will be biting him back and see how it likes it. Little boys are so much fun!

A sunny day in november

We took some picinic food and went to the park today sat in the shade and ate lunch on our blanket and played at the park- we had a lot of fun and kaitlyns friend Mirin came to play with us here. In fact kaitlyn stayed a little bit longer and mirins mom and caleb and I came back for a nap and house work- Good times for everyone. Here is a video and a few photos. Kaitlyn or should I say cinderella -didn't want to play many of the games. I don't know why but she wanted to eat an apple so she did bob for one- I couldn't believe it-She got one!!! She loves the crafts at parties. Here is a few photos of our fun day together. Caleb took a 4 hour nap for Ryan so he got time to study and some well over due alone time. We are so lucky to have a wonderful place to live while we are here in virginia. Although we miss our friends and family back home we have met some really wonderful people here.
