Roasting pumpkins and pumpkin bread
I have decided that kids need to know that things do not come from a can. Although it is easy I think it is important for kids to see where things come from other than the store and a can. I bought a can and opended it to show the kids. We went to the patch and all kaitlyn would talk about it pumpkin bread. So I went to the store bought 2 sugar baking pumpkins- roasted them and pureed them and then made pumpkin bread- it was a lot of fun and we all learned about pumpkins. We also roasted the seeds- which the kids loved.
We are almost crawling
Since I took this video yesterday Brooke is getting faster and moving with much more ease. Kaitlyn crawled at 7 1/2 month Caleb at 9 months and Brooke is at 5 1/2 months. CRAZY. Time is going by so fast with her she wants to be a big kid.

Roller skating
I took the kids roller skating the other day. WOW that was a lot of work- Kaitlyn states it is now her favorite sport. I don't know why because she never left the side of the wall. I had Brooke in the born and had to hold both Kaitlyn and Caleb up around the skating rink. I am sure it was quite a site to see. Sorry the photos are cray blurring- skating rinks haven't changed at all since I went 20 years ago- dark and with carpet walls and florescent things all over the place. CRAZY

Girls scout weekend
Kaitlyn and I went to camp Kitty this last weekend. We had a great time. We went fishing, on a scavernger hunt, a drum ceremony along side the campfire. We also had a pumpkin decorating challenge. Kaitlyn was so excited when she won! It was so nice to spend time with the other girl scout moms and kids.

First Tooth
Brooke got her first tooth on her 5 month birthday. As soon as I can get a photo of it. It is the bottom left tooth. She woke up three times in the middle of the night last night so I think the other one is on its way as well. Caleb and Kaitlyn didnt get there first tooth until they were almost a year. Brooke wants to prove to us she is truly a big kid. She is so smiley and likes to go to everyone. That is very different than my other two as well. We wish our family could watch her grow. She is such a little miracle.

Rice Cereal for Brooke
She did great for her first feeding. After getting up a few nights this week because Brooke was hungry we decided it was time. I think she was really ready for some real food because she actually didnt hate it- I cant beleive is is almost 5 months old.

Prominent Iris Crypts
I have noticed since Brooke was born a spot on her eye. I asked the pediatrician and she referred us to an pediatric ophthalmologist. They got us in right away- Kind of scary- She has great vision and was diagnosed with a prominent iris Crypts. We are to watch it over the next 6 months but in his opinion it is clearly cosmetic- The camera for some reason picks up the spot really well in low light- there is actually on in each eye but the one on her left is most apparent.

Fall soccer season begins
4 months old
So look what she is doing now! Brooke loves her exercauser! Lets just say I wish I had one with the other kids! She is sitting in her bumboo and brings toys to her mouth to chew on. She smiles so easily and loves her big sister and brother. She is rolling all over the place and nothing is safe on the floor anymore.

Crump park
We took the kids to a park near our house the other day and we were surprised to find out that it was civil war days- they had all different tasks and jobs for the kids to do on the farm. They could dig sweet potatoes, feed the cows and horses, shell black eyed peas, spin wool. It was the first time taking the kids somewhere to ride there bikes- we had a lot of fun.
Washington DC with three kids
Last weekend we took the kids up to WA DC. We had a very tiring blast and lots of walking with the three kids- I Can totally understand why it isn't fun for them. Looking at old buildings. When I told kaitlyn how old the capital was she said.... Mom so it was built the same time grandma lynda was born. I started laughing so loud people started looking. She apparently has no idea of time yet. We were able to take a tour of the Capital- we walk to the library of congress, White house, american history museum, we saw the Washington monument. Lets just say it was memorable. In the history musuem we got to see the Ruby slippers from wizard of oz. Julie childs kitchen, lincoln's suit and top hat all the first ladies dresses.
